- a coalition of bird groups in Australia.
Hosted by the Australian Bird
Study Association website.
BIGnet was formed to co-ordinate activities, and to enable common positions to be presented by the birding community on issues facing Australia's avian fauna.
Currently based in NSW, it is hoped that eventually all groups in Australia will be able to participate.
Meetings are held every six months, in various locations, usually hosted by a local bird group. The weekend usually consists of lectures, presentations of research findings, as well as the formal meeting of the group.
To check coming events, please click on "Events" above, or go to http://my.calendars.net/bignet Each member organisation can put up their own events, colour coded, on the calendar. Please send an email to

for information on how your group can access the calendar.
(NB. We do not provide automatic email links due to SPAM - please reconstruct the email before use).
Sometimes it is hard to access the calendar, usually due
to congestion at peak times in America. If you are having
difficulty, then one of the following addresses may get you
through, or just wait a few hours: http://www.calsnet.net/bignet http://www.calsnet.com/bignet 207.202.158.42/bignet 207.202.158.91/bignet 207.202.158.102/bignet 207.202.158.111/bignet 207.202.158.112/bignet 207.202.158.113/bignet
