Important Bird Areas

IMPORTANT BIRD AREAS

In order to better protect areas that are significant for Australian birds, those that meet certain criteria have been declared Important Bird Areas (IBAs).

IBAs are commonly adopted by a local group, who then undertake surveys, and generally keep an eye on the integrity of the area, and the birds therein.
