2016 ABSA Annual Conference and AGM


The 2016 ABSA conference will be held on 23rd January at Yarramundi Conference Centre with a field trip organized for the 24th to one of Cumberland Plain Avian Research Team’s study sites.


The topic is Birds of the Cumberland Plain – Past distributions, present studies and the outlook for their future and will include presentations on:


What was there! What have we lost?

What’s happening to our native bushland?

Regeneration Programs – Do they work for the birds?

Birds of the Blacktown Regional Reserves

Birds of Mt Annan Botanic Gardens

The recent psyllid outbreak and its effect on a bird community at Nurragingy Reserve

Bell Miners and their impact

Current surveys, what are they telling us?

Urban Birds – What changes are occurring across the Sydney region?

The outlook for threatened bush bird species on the Cumberland Plain

The Association’s Annual General Meeting will be held during the Conference lunch break.
